Why does restarting the computer fix problems? For example, my internet browsers (both Internet Explorer and Firefox) would give an error dialogue (can't remember what it said). How do I fix these computer problems? When I turn on my computer with Windows XP it freezes at start up. I then have to turn it off by the powerpoint and turn it back on to get it working. And when i leave the computer for a few seconds to a few minutes everything freezes up.

Computer problems - will Registry Smart fix them? I've been having some problems with my computer at home; gives me errors on programs that I've deleted; missing directories, etc. I came across a program called Registry Smart and wondered if this would actually fix my problems or not. Software: How do you fix javascript problems on your computer? Yahoo keeps telling me I don't have javascript enabled when I try to star questions. I've gone to Internet Options>Security and all the appropriate boxes seem to be checked. I can't add contacts, block users, or browse categories to place my questions in so this may end up in the wrong place. Spell check disappeared too. I'm running Version 6 of Internet Explorer. It's happened before and usually sorts itself out but it's taking much longer to go away this time. How can I hurry it up? I am having major computer problems, not computer but mainly internet problems, how do i fix them? Here are my main problems. The FIRST problem is that my internet is being extremely slow and I have high-speed internet. SECOND one is that it won't allow me to download anything off the internet. They said that there was only one solution to dix it and that was to wipe my system clean and reintall windows, etc. I don't have my disc for windows which they know. What can I do now? I want my money back because they didn't fix this problem. I called them and they were rude to me (I haven't asked for my money back). I've been on the phone almost everyday for the past week and a half and I've been having the problem since before I called.

This includes many so called Help Sites, people in Best Buy Customer Service, self proclaimed geeks, etc. Is there anyone who actually knows about problem solving who is really interested in helping people?
